Tangled was so expensive mainly because of how long it took to get the story right. It took about ten years of multiple aborted attempts at the movie each of which got pretty far in before they scrapped everything and started again. An entertaining if rather forgettable Disney animation that in no way earned its colossal budget tangled eventually bagged a profit when it was released in international theaters but it is still pretty mind boggling how much cash they spent on this one. It is cot of $274.

The film was shot primarily in England with on site filming in Bangladesh, Italy, New York and South Korea. The tax rebate from the United Kingdom verified the cost of the film to be $239 million. Age of Ultron went on to make the box office making it the highest grossing film of all time. The upcoming sequels infinity wars part 1 and part 2 have the potential to be even more expensive.

This film was released in the United States on 18 January 2013. The film focuses on a tough small town sheriff and his deputies who must stop a dangerous drug lord from escaping to Mexico in a modified sports car. You have go violent movies fatigue and you are too exhausted from real life carnage on the news to enjoy an R rated blood fest in which a number of kills are executed as deliberately funny visual punch lines you do not want to go anywhere near this film.
